1:100 Daghi Iris 'Forest Commando'  Discussions »
Modelled using Humbrol Liquid Polystyrene, Milliput 2 part Putty and Gutermann plastic beads.

Painted by hand using Citadel Foundation, Citadel Acrylic, Tamiya Acrylic and Folkart Acrylic.

I tried to really advance my modelling here and improve the overall finish of the kit itself as well as make the paintjob far more complex than I've previously attempted. I worked much harder on seams than I have in the past (please check out a pic of a standard OOB Daghi before pointing out 'seams' that are still on the kit, as this has several intentional 'inter-panel' lowered panel lines that look a little like seams...I found that out when I accidentally filled one of them!! ^^; ). I've also added extra plastic bead parts, and filled the feet cavities with putty to give the kit better balance.

This is a very old kit, but in many ways was much more fun than the more recent kits I've built. It has large chunky parts which feel pretty substantial and solid in comparison to the fiddliness of the Kyrios, and if you put it in a pose, it stays in it as opposed to going sliding and drooping all over the place or pitching straight onto it's back like the Kyrios xDD. Also, call me old-school or insane, but I prefer polys to ABS joints.

wow...cool colour combo, matt finish, and F91 kit. You've really developed a unique style of finish which is both ruff but also silky smooth too. anyhow well done mister, I think I'm gonna try hand-painting for my next kit now that I've seen this beaut
