My second mobile suit kit. I wanted something normal and not a half dead dragon mess. After watching and playing the ps2 game 'Mobile Suit Gundam' I had to make a Zaku II. This model won second to the Zeta in a small model show...
This was built using the full Bandai kit, MG gundam head plate and putty...
Painting:
A mix of Tamiya acrylics, Citadel inks, Gundam liner, Custom silver and custom Matt finish. The model was brushed painted...
Modification:
Parts trimmed and gaps filled, Gun barrel drilled, Bag added to rear of left foot, Open hand filled and chest ripped open with putty around and a MG gundam head plate installed for added detail. Water slide decals were added...
Creativity:
I wanted a fresh but used Zaku lightly damaged in battle and pulling out though the bush...
Base:
Made with putty, PVA glue, train set tress and sand...
*This model is on display at Cosplay Ozanimart Melbourne, Australia*

The position of the left hand looks weird. |

I like your diorama, the pose is a little static and awkward, but the concept is there. Good job for a drybrush kit, it's hard to make them look good but your are pulling it off nicely. |

First off, the base is very nice. So is your choice of green for the Zaku, im going to do one in OD green to see how it looks (I did the head for the hard graph zaku head 1/35 scale in OD and it looks good) My only question for you, goes along the line of the Q on your zeta... The gash in the chest... granted, it LOOKS cool, very good actuially, but if you think logically again, why on earth, or for that matter, why on Side 3 would you want to keep patrolling, fighting, or anything with your cockpit bashes open and your own head exposed to enemy fire? Also along that line, what federation weapon could do that kind of damage... a beam saber slash wouldnt open one end so much, if it was a slash that could, it would have went through the cockpit, same goes for any beam rifle, and an exposive wouldnt do that. But physics and realism aside, It looks good, I want to see more pictures |
