Here is my finished VP Conversion of the MG Strike Noir. I used a more subtle paint scheme than the standard as I felt that a mecha with a name of "Noir" would fly under the radar a little bit.
The paint used was all Tamiya acrylics, other than the metallics which were done in Alclad II (with a base layer of lacquer gloss black). Decals from the VP kit and Samuel Decal were applied, and then an enamel panel line wash was done in a dark gray color. Everything but the metallics were finished with a flat coat. Beads, screws, and other metallic accessories were all from mechaskunk. This was not glued into place, and the kit is still poseable.
The base was built out of an acrylic photo frame, with the rod coming from Mechaskunk again.
All in all, I'm satisfied with the build, and it definitely helped me improve my skills in many areas. Thanks, and let me know your comments and criticisms!

the "pla plates" aren't actually pla plates. . .the parts are from VP's awesome resin conversion kit. check out www.vpmodel.com for some great kits. hobbyfan.com has recasts of some of VP's kits, if you choose to go that route. thanks for all the comments again!
thank you! ive been trying to figure out what that was called for the longest time. also where did you get all those plaplates? and do you use cement or glue to attach it?
thanks for the comments everybody!
@ littlehuyner, the base is actually an acrylic photo frame that i bought from a craft store called Michael's (if you live in the USA). i've also seen them at photo frame stores, like Aaron Brothers.
the rod, like i mentioned in the description above, i bought from www.mechaskunk.com. i just drilled a hole in the photo frame and stuck the rod in. on the top of the rod, i drilled little holes for floral wire, and drilled corresponding holes in the gundam so that it would be held in place by the wire.
then i just made a simple design in MS Word and printed it out and put it in the photo frame to complete the base.
hope that helps!
