I'm a new modeler just having fun building kits. I just started building kits this summer around July and stopped around the end of August completing the 1/100 Saviour. In the two months, I have built quite a few kits! I have many more kits left to build, but going to take a break from it to concentrate on school. I am going to try to build a kit though during big holiday breaks!

I've never used a gundam marker, but I'm told that they are a definite pain in the butt to use. To be honest I've never had a problem with the Micron pen. They clean up fairly well as long as you're doing it over a gloss to semi-gloss finish. Don't worry about gloss paint that can easily be taken care of with the aid of a flat clear coat. I myself use Testors Dull Cote. It's a super flat quick drying clear coat that not only protects your model, but give it a nice flat sheen which can look very realistic. It also dries really fast so that's a plus! If you want examples of what the Dull Cote can do then just browse my galleries. Oh, and the Microns are water soluble, so you only need water to wash away your mistakes. It's also important to know that the Micron won't easily clean up if it's done over a flat finish as flat paint is very porous. That's the reason a flat coat is neccessary for the paint after you've done all the panels on the gloss paint first. You'll still have time to fix any mistakes up until the flat coat.

I like your work! Not bad for a beginner. Can't wait to see you bust out some paints. You have a lot of potential.
