1/144 Merkava Inspired E-Wack  Discussions »
This is my second entry to this site. This is an E-Wack Zack that I modified to look sort of like a Merkava tank. I ordered this model without even knowing what it looked like, I just gambled that it would look cool. When I got it, I was a little surprised cause I htought it looked really odd. The plan was just to build it to get it done and out of the way, but the more I started to build the more potential I saw in it for modification. I perferated the fuel drums and added aluminum rods to look like some sort of nuclear fueling system. Thruster bells were replaced with bells from a bigger kit. The hoses were all replaced with black hose chain, the arms and head were modified to compensate for this (especially the head). I also reshaped the head to smoothen the contour and overall shape. I added a cannon on the forehead out of aluminum rods, the shape from above really looks like a tank turret now. I also added chain armor that is found on Merkava tanks to protect it from RPGs by detonating them before they hit the tank. That part took a while as there are 36 chains, each with a ball at the end. Rifle was hollowed out at the end and an aluminum rod was placed in it cut at an angle. Mono-Eye and rifle scope have also been changed. Pretty standard paint job on it though, I didn't want to get too wild with it, just basic desert colours and some simple decalling to make it look more tank like, the triangles are typical Merkava markings.. Let me know what you think.

I love how you have taken this classic design and give him a old school yet well done finish. Great work...
