The Plague, my second "real" modelling attempt. A modified 1/100 MG MS-18E Kampfer model. Mostly stock, first attempt at spraypainting. Has a chrome undercoat and a Candy Color Blue finish. Details hand painted, then finished with FFA. Quite a few edge build-ups with excess paint, mostly due to spraying too heavily.
The Plague, front view. A few mods were made, notably the holes in the armor (lighter == faster) and the dual saber on the right hand.

whoa bro, careful with acids, especially battery acids. The Alclad paints go on fast, you can polish within a day or two, and clearcoating is just another spray layer, maybe 2 weeks tops if you don't work on 'em every day. If you're dead set on using a bit of acid in the chrome (not recommended...) try using some vinegar (which is acidic). Please be very careful with any acid much stronger than that!
Man thats too much to do, thats about 2 months worth of work... maybe is i use a drop of acid into the chrome i may get that shine again problem is getting the acid, the last time i use acid was from a dead battery. its too messy to open a battery.
@gbtip Thanks, I'm a sucker for Candy Colors =p
@maverik I think I understand what you're saying. The real chromed metal look is pretty tough to get, you might want to look into something like Alclad metal paints, then polish with a polishing compound, and buff to a high polish. Then when you clear coat, use something like uncut Future Floor Acrylic or a high gloss coat.
yes i am planning on makin the internal side of the kit chrome, but i need to find a type of powder that shines it up n give it a real chrome look do u kno what im talkin' 'bout?
Thanks, I really appreciate it. Black with chrome accents? Sounds pretty slick. Are you planning on making the internals chrome too? or subdued internals and have the chrome accents on the armor exterior? I think that scheme has definite potential.
Thanks for the comment! I used Testors Metallic Silver and Testors Clear Blue. I found them at Michael's Craft store, but I imagine other places like Wal-Mart might carry them also.
