Just FYI, I'm working on another 1/100 Legend now. :) What was the problem you were having with the DRAGOONs on yours?

The sub for nippers is toe nail clippers. I used them for years, the only problem is, they are round so, they leave bigger nubs, but just use a nail file or some fine grit sandpaper to take care of those. Since you are fairly new to building, I dont think anyone will notice you aren't using pro tools. ;)

I dont know abour you but I found A 1.60 easy to work with as my first kit. BUt through experience I have done it up too many times to count. remeber. when handbrushing use a very steady hand. I got 3 kits coming up on my profile so be sure to leave a comment ;)

It depends on what you want to hand paint on the model. Different sized brushes give you access to different effects. Use a fine tip for painting those really small details and get some slightly bigger brushes for whatever. Get to sets. One for drybrushing and one for painting.

Any local hobby store will have nippers. Try dexonline.com if you need help finding a nearby hooby store. Yes, model train stores count as a hobby shop. If you still can't find them then your next best option is to go to a hardware store and by a set of wire cutters. They're rounded instead of flat, so you don't want to cut flush against the part you're trying to get out of the sprue. just use your files to take off what you did not cut off of the part. Trust me, wire cutters work. I started using them because they were all I had lying around the house when I started modeling and I personally think they are better to use because you put a little more care into what you're doing so you will screw up less. All you have to remember is to leave just a little bit of the sprue nub on the part knowing you'll sand it off after cutting. And on the plus side, they're cheaper.

I have a shopping list for you. *Jewelers files *Maxi-cure plastic super glue *A pair of hobby nippers *Dupli-color automotive primer *Office sticky tack *Bamboo skewers *block of foam for skewers *.oo5 Micron pen (It's cheaper than a gundam marker and does just as well and is easier to locate. Try Michaels for them) I myself use Tamiya paint and the spray cans of Tamiya are superb for beginners. Always sand out nip marks before painting. To do a seam, place a little super glue along one side of a piece then put the two pieces together. Wipe off the excess glue with your finger quickly. Use the files to smooth out the now glued seam after it has dried. Place parts onto the bamboo skewers using the sticky tack or the male peg holes on the model. Now it’s time to get rid of any remaining imperfections. Prime all parts using the automotive primer. When dry (about 3 hours for Dupli-color primer) lightly sand any remaining imperfections. Sort all of your pieces according to the color you want them to be. Now have fun and paint. Once dry, do the panel lines and decals if you want. Hand-paint any details that you could not do by spray painting. Now use some type of flat clearcoat to protect your work. I myself like to use the Testors brand Dull cote. It’s goes on smoothly and dries fast. That’s it for advice. Use it well.

You got yourself a model, keep it up. The key to making a good modle is practise, keep up the good work. My firts kit doesn't realy look that different from yours I have to say:P. I also have to practise alot.

I bought that one after I practised on/with the 1/144 models(cool model BTW:P). You can practis on any kind of model but I would practis with 1/144 models. Its your choice.

Well my firt models wher all 1/144 but the dont have any detail, unless you get a 1/144 HG. If I wher you I would buy a 1/144 Hg model(from a Gundam story you like). And when you masted modeling a lil you can get a 1/100 the 1/100 HG arn't realy that diffrent from the 1/144 HG, the only diffrens ther is is that the 1/144 Hg's ar cheaper then the 1/100 and that de 1/100 is bigger. So get a 1/144 kit practis modeling on that one. adn when you think you are ready for it buy a 1/100 kit.
