(^^)/ hey, thanks so much for your comments. Most the metal parts (thrusters, rings, verniers, laser blade) for Bawoo you can get those at www.hiqparts.com (in Japanese, but I think they accept order from overseas ). The rest of metal parts (barrel rifle and energy cable) are from www.adlersnest.com and yes, I usually upload my work in progress on flickr, (same nick). Currently Im working on RX-78-2 MG OYW ver.

I'll have to try that on the next kit! To be honest, I am thinking the other half of the Rick Dom from the Zaku-Dom project will be a test kit. I am going to try everything from pre & post shading to the ink wash and using hairspray to simulate rusted paint flaking. As far as the "project" I am trying to scratchbuild the waist armor. I have puttied the Zaku and will hopefully be creating the armor this week. Wish me luck!
toefu
04/20 08:30
The majority of my panel lines are inked with the black GM 01 200 Gundam marker. I have shopped around for the "PERFECT" panel line pen and have used quite a few....but I keep coming back to the Gundam marker. I think they do the best job for the best price...so far. One of theses days I am going to try the ink wash. I have a friend who used the wash on a Tie Fighter and came away with amazing results. What about you? Which do you use most / prefer to be the best?
toefu
04/17 16:18
Nothing to apologize for, not a prob. I appreciate your opinion. You were absolutely right, the Ball does not have any water slides. I used the dry transfer...and dumb me....the decals. NEVER AGAIN I SWEAR!!! In regards to the dull coate, yeah, you have a point, but I love the shiny too. Take for example my Char's Nu Gundam...shiny was the way to go. The desert GM...not so much. To be totally honest, I think my Ball could use another batch of dull but it was time to move to another project. Which, brings me to the MS-06 RD-4...or the Zaku-Dom from 08. At this point, I have a Zaku on top of Rick Dom legs. The waist will need total modification and will most likely be completely scratchbuilt and kit bashed. I'd post pics as I go...bit I really don't like doing In-progress reports for two reasons... 1. it makes it feel too much like a job or school rather than a hobby. 2. I tend to get burnt out and want to move to another kit...ie the MG F91 which I am also working on. (broke both shoulders....yeah sore subject, that is why I am back to the Zaku-Dom) What about yourself? Anything in the pipeline for you?

04/16 19:23
Also, I appreciate your comments regarding my Gunpla. Please continue to post on my pieces, however, please take into consideration you are unaware of my and other modelers' modeling knowledge. To some, your comments could be misconstrued as negative and condescending. Remember, this is a forum for ALL ranges of Gunpla fanatics to show off their work. We want to encourage all to participate, the Newbies, the OOB folks, the Vets, the Intermediates, and the Pros. Thanks again!

As far as the conversion kit for the Guncannon for 0083. It is a recast of a B-Club resin kit. I will respect Bandai and not post it on this site, but if you are interested I am sure you can find retailers specializing in recasts. Or, give me your email address and I will send you a couple of links.

Sounds about right thanks for the info. You’re great at thinking about these things. I've got a really big model show coming in 3 months. It’s the Australian open IPMS gig and the top modelers there are our nations best. I'll post pictures of my work soon...
toefu
04/03 17:23
Very true. The skirt is the main concern. I am thinking of working in the Rick Dom skirt somehow and then scratch building the front area. Then there is the color arguement. MAHQ.net has some good pics and I have watched that segment of the show numerous times, but still I am on the fence regarding the color scheme. LOL, a pink Zaku? Must be Char's little brother!
toefu
04/02 19:35
So here is the situation. The RD Zaku from 08 MS TEAM....you take the Zaku II and use the Rick Dom legs..... and then you back away from the kit and try to decide if you think you can actually create the skirt to look something like the mecha in the show. Then you leave it alone for a while and decide to work on the F91 instead. You break both shoulder pieces of the F91 and decide to take another look at the RD Zaku idea. Remember, you can't decide if you want to have the upper half of a Rick Dom and the lower half of a Zaku II lying around. I suppose I could build a Rick Dom guntank with the leftovers? Any ideas?

Sorry to correct your friend, but a zombie is a reanimated corpse with no soul. A resurrected being is when the body and the soul are reunited into a one perfect being. I'm not offended and I respect your belief, but I just find you to be the kind of person who would be interested in facts like this.

I have 3 broken computers were I just pull parts out to fix my main one or trade whit mates needed. 10 old school theater lights from england (im proud of those). Two 12' concert speakers plus a heap of audio gear. A desk full of clothes a floor full of old school books, paper work and catalogs. And a sports drinks stand with TV, 2 DVD players, N64, Playstation 2, Super N, And an awsome custom sound system. Plus a shelf full of bootleg anime dvd boxsets (I mean over 200). I'm working on doing Quintesson models from the old TF movie. They're custom made by the company and once they're casted he will ship them off to me for painting. I'm being payed $20 per Quintesson which isn't half bad. I get to keep the first Quintesson model for free so that's a big plus in my book. Also, if he likes what I do with it he will use me inorder to get other models ready for promotion on the site like the WAR and JET pieces. To be honest though, I'm holding out hopes for being able to do one of the HOS Primes that you might have seen on the site.

03/11 18:06
How did I get knocked down to beginner! Not to sound arrogant, but my work is much better than what I've been labeled and while I'm at it, what happened to us being able to vote on our ranks? Something is odd here when both of us have been knocked down to begginer. I thought this site was for ameuter modelers to post their works and get better at building, but I'm seeing more and more expert modelers get on this site while we're tossed to the wayside.

robofreak
01/31 17:33
Read what I posted on the guestbook of 50cal. Do you think that was a good response? It's hard enough getting Zach to stop touching his models while we work on one, but when other people get involved who don't know the whole story then that's when we have a problem. Am I right?

When I started modeling several years ago I did Japanese war planes. I used plastic cement on the clear parts and they fogged like a mother. Many of my friend did the same thing and they even painted on it (years have pased their out of the game and I have not touched a clear piece in a long time). When someone does a great job with clear parts for some reason I focus on the work-men ship. Yours is done quite well! how did you glue it?(I would use PVA or Super glue real on a tooth pick carefully after every piece of the model is done)
deathworld_dragon
01/25 06:30
Ah! You see I also like fitchen foo's stuff as well but my long term goal is to become better or at same level as him (the hamster ball is awsome). Its fine to not paint some models and only collect them, I won't drill you for that. I am still pissed at some people who do and it isn't even made well (not cleaning seams, ect). I respect you for not useing them to buff up your profile. Like some one we know...
deathworld_dragon
01/24 06:12
I agree with you about the comments and snap kits. I'm tring to become harder on the others so they can drop their balls and start painting. Hell im sick of "I'm a modeler but I don't paint" Even when I was a noob 10 years ago my first model (a japanese war plane) was well built, clean and hand painted with enamels and water slide decals. Yes it was a little messy and had a few gaps but 100x better than what some of these 16 year olds are willing to do (I was only 10). I see what you mean buy being the best 3 active around here but some of the guys who pop in around here are great. Check this guys work out (http://www.bakuc.com/modeler/keenix) I think he might better than fichten foo in some ways. Thanks for adding me into the group but I only post hang around here a lot because it passes time at work. Thanks...
alllla
01/24 04:31
Oh, and just so you know, I'm not trying to be defensive or hateful when I say this. It was a truthful comment. Here it goes. I'm not wasting money in my mind on kits that I will agree turn out to be, lets say, less than par. BUT, If I'm having fun and gaining experience, I'd say, money well spent! And again, I was not offended by your comment what-so-ever. I'm just saying that because when reading something it's hard to pick up intended tones, such as sarcasm...well OFF TO MY FREEDOM...AWAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!
robofreak
01/23 19:06
The PG Eva actually had Tamiya spray cans used on it. The green is nothing more than Tamiya candy lime green with a flat clear coat. It worked well on the kit. Zach is proving to be a challenge. I don't live in Kentucky otherwise I might have a little more say in his projects so all I can really do is try to help him as best I can and hope he listens. If he's really that short on money I can show him some tricks to make this hobby cheaper. I know how to take $50 on a kit and make it look like I spent $100. My Humiliated Son of God entry is a testament to it. Most people think I spent a pretty penny on the base when I only spent about $8.
ucangler
01/23 11:34
LOL...yeah im working on it. Turns out i under puttied the seams...this is the first one i actually seamed and it failed...my paint is the shit but damn...i'll see if i can fix it....i guess i really need to over putty the seams.
robofreak
01/22 19:07
I'm suffering from a lack of funds too, but that's why I've got everything on hold for now. I can't finish Eva-02 until the weather warms up. (and that's saying a lot for Phoenix Arizona) I'm also a little burned out from my Zeta plus C1 that will be posted soon. I'm taking it easy for a couple of weeks while I work on my Castlevania games. I'm very tempted to make a Leon Belmont figure now.

robofreak
01/18 15:07
Well, I gave him a shopping list of things to buy. Once he get it all we will be able to continue. Where on earth did you find 2600 grit sandpaper? The highest I've found is 1500. I normally only use 400 grit though.
deathworld_dragon
01/18 10:28
With the Zaku again its the cool factor. I spent a good few hours in a hobby shop selecting the right greens. The hole in the chest was really hard to do and not a random hack job. Come to think of it now no federation weapon could do that (I feel stupid now, lol). I would like to think I would be stupid enough to keep on fighting with a smashed cockpit (got hammered in kendo with out my gear on at the time, feeling stupid again lol). Thanks for that I will think about that in the next project. More photos will be a little hard because it is on public display at an anime shop...

I wouldn't have thought such detail would stick out and you have some great ideas about battle damage. Going to have to bounce ideas off you and ask for advice real soon. Thanks for the help and crit (you can only grow and learn from crits and mistakes). See you around...
deathworld_dragon
01/17 04:00
Thanks for pointing that out! I didn't melt it but built it from scrach wich at the time I liked (being my first Gundam ever). The effect was crumpled metal like he was hit on the head and the V-frame was a weaker metal than the head. I got this idea from my car being hit by a trailer. For some reason people get funny ideas looking at my work?!.
deathworld_dragon
01/17 03:27
I perfectly agree with you! "all modelers should be nurtured to their whatever potential they have" and "Not enough of us around as is". Their too many modelers like Zach but Robofreak is doing a great job of turning him around. With our suport we can at least change one modeler at a time...
deathworld_dragon
01/15 21:41
Thanks for giving Zach some extra help. Im sure with robofreaks help he is on the right road. I wonder what type of models he will produce, its going to be great...
robofreak
01/15 19:08
Dude, don't give Zach (alllla) to much information at once. I'm trying to help him do his first kit one step at a time. That way he won't get "overloaded" like he did last time. I'm trying to walk him through his Strike Freedom so he'll have an idea of how to do his other kits. Baby steps.
robofreak
01/13 18:04
Yeah, it's starting to piss me off. I know this site is for ameuteurs like us, but that does'nt mean you should post a kit that looks like it was done by a 5 year old. My brother just got his PG from the semi final a week ago and it's still in pieces. He's been working nonstop and apart from the outer armour and the weapons the frame is just a wash or 2 away from being done. He's actually done better on it than I thought he would. He's definitely unique compared to a few of the other junior category modelers.

I'm just hoping they did'nt remove 50cal. He is the now reformed 123456789. He has apologized for his actions and I do think he has the potential to be a great modeler. Oh and how do I find you on hobbyfanatics? I was going to get an account earlier, but things got crazy over here with the holidays.

So I take it that you like my E'Gock? If you did tell fellow modeler alllla that his concept design was a success. I'll have a hobbyfanatics account tomorrow night by the way

I think maybe he (florist from floridas) doesn't have friends in real world, so he make a mess in this site, express his anger because he don't have any friends? is it logical ? because my friend have friends who's exactly act like him a lot & he don't have any friends untill now

Thanks man. He pretty much left a nasty comment on everyone who's left a comment in my guestbook. So I'm sending an email to Bakuc too. Thanks again.

Hey man, watch out. A guy called florida_naturalist is in fact 123456789, their comments are pretty much identical to each other. So be careful.

Sazabi's part of an ongoing project. He's going to be in a diorama with the RX-93 once I manage to get the kit. So he'll get a better pose once I decide to start work on the diorama. I'm not to sure if I know you or not. I'm just a fellow modeler who's out here trying to make friends with others on this site.

Hey! I like your work. Any idea what's up with 123456789? I left a pretty nasty comment on his guest book so I get the feeling he's going to try and scew with the comments sections on my models and also try to bring the ratings on them down. Do me a favor and keep an eye on my works for me. I'll do the same for you. I also complained to Bakuc about him but, I get the feeling they're not gonna do jack unless a bunch of raise a stink about him.
