Here's my latest work, after finishing my Core-Works Ex-S, I continued building this. This is a combination of MG Ex-S and G-System Deepstriker Attempt 4, the latest one. I almost used all the parts of MG Ex-S instead of using just the body for the original Deepstriker conversion. I did lots of mods, scratchbuilding, and custom the parts. I started the plan early this year and just worked non-stop last month. Check out my WIPs in forums like fichtenfoo, greattoysonline, and robot-japan. This is the biggest kit i ever finished. It was quite hard, the simple circuit for the chest LED was a challenge to me, I have to scratch-build the mid chest for the LED and find out how to integrate it in the kit (Circuit and battery). I think everything went well, I like my color scheme though i did a lot of repainting on the parts just to check the best combination. Thanks for looking and hope you'll enjoy the pics!

Fantastic looking model, and the hands look fine--even under magification. smeagolthevile thinks that he looks like a better modeler if he finds something to criticize on other peoples' excellent work. |

Thank you everyone!!! First of all, it took me approximately 3 months to finish if we just counted the time spent to build this. Modifications? A lot. Check out the G-System Deepstriker Attempt 4 and the MG Ex-S, combine them and you'll see what I did (Added Al tubes, panel lines, custom parts from other kits, internal details, chest w/ LED and putting the batteries inside the propellant, legs, feet, magnets were used to connect the I-Field to the left arm, etc). Lots of added details so the pics will do justice. Oil paints were used by doing the wash technique. Pretty easy to do than using gundam markers and pens since this model has a lot of details. I didn't use MG manipulators/hands, please check the pics. I only used MG hands on my Ex-S Coreworks. I really don't know how much I spent to finish this model, but estimately $80 for MG Ex-S, G-System Deepstriker $300, Tools and parts more than $200 including paints, custom made stand using a paper towel stand acrylic, etc. Please go to fichtenfoo forum, mechapinoy forum and check out my WIP. Thanks everyone!!! vic01 |

wqell, first, congradulations. This is quite the well put together and thought out kit. Could you specify the modifications and scratch built parts (as I do not know this specific conversion) What did you use for thrusters (outside and the blue part) its a very, very nice finish, something I wouldnt mind trying to replicate. You said you used oil paints for the pannel lining, did you paint them in, or use a wash? The leds are very nice, I didnt even realise you had them on there untill I looked at furthur pics. One criticism I can make. Get rid of those crappy hands, get many a Bclub set of manipulaters, they really dont look good (MG hands never do, except for the ones with the apposable fingers (some of them are even just polycaps (ugh))) All in all, a very nice job. How long did it take
(and cost) |
